Like everyone says, its because they are involved in a quest. I think the fact that they are iconic or whatever and can be remade isn't necessarily connected to this but there is, they say, a bug relating to iconic items with this flag. I haven't tried it yet because the crafting and upgrading options were so awful.

I should be able to deal with those the same way I can deal with any other clothing. I'm not saying I need to dissemble them, but I should be able to stash them at least.
